“On Saturday 21st December 2019, HIF was the official Game Night Partner for the Perth Wildcats vs Melbourne United game at RAC Arena.

We ran several brand activations throughout the event, including an innovative crowd engagement piece powered by Komo Live. The activity was an online fan quiz which commenced an hour before tip-off and closed during the half-time break. The quiz included 10 questions about the Wildcats, plus an interactive fan poll and two survey questions about private health insurance. The quiz was open to all game day attendees, and the fan who correctly answered the most questions the quickest won $2000 at the third-quarter break, courtesy of HIF.

Going into the event, we were conscious that there’s always a lot going on at Wildcats games and we weren’t sure if our competition would get lost in the noise amongst the on-court entertainment and other distractions. In hindsight, we needn’t have worried. t to reflect how the results kept changing. 

Working with the Komo team was easy from start to finish. They were open to our ideas and input and we were delighted with the final outcome. Our quiz looked fantastic and worked perfectly, with beautifully branded graphics, a user-friendly interface and fast loading speeds. On the night, Jason from Komo worked closely with RAC Arena’s AV partner, Brightside, to ensure the competition link was promoted frequently during the game. And post-event, the data collected allowed us to send a follow-up eDM with a special joining offer and bonus competition just for quiz participants.

Our live quiz was the first of its kind to occur during a Perth Wildcats game, and we’ve received great feedback from Wildcats fans and staff. I would certainly recommend Komo to any organisation wishing to activate a live event in an innovative and engaging way.”
